DISNEY MAKES DEBUT AT PRIMAVERA SOUND BARCELONA WITH LIVE MUSIC, ART AND EXPERIENCES

BARCELONA, Spain (June 1, 2026): This summer, The Walt Disney Company arrives at Primavera Sound Barcelona, marking the first time the company has activated at one of Europe’s most influential music festivals. Taking place between 4-6 June, the collaboration brings Disney into festival music culture through a multi-faceted live experience.

Spanning generations of storytelling, from the original icon Disney Mickey Mouse to the highly anticipated release of Disney and Pixar “Toy Story 5” (in cinemas, 17 June 2026 [19 June UK]), Disney’s presence at Primavera Sound Barcelona reflects its continued expansion into brand activations in cultural spaces, offering fan communities a place to experience Disney stories and products through live experiences, creativity and entertainment.

“Primavera Sound is a celebration of culture and creativity, which we truly believe in at Disney and resonates throughout our storytelling. Our characters connect with fans across music, art and experiences and this year’s Disney island is an opportunity for festival-goers to engage with our brand in a fun and relaxing way. We are excited about being a part of what makes this such a special event,” said Claire Terry, Senior Vice President Disney Consumer Products, EMEA.

Stationed within the festival grounds, the Disney activation takes the shape of a dedicated “island”, forming a colourful space for festival-goers to feel a sense of joy and nostalgia, whilst recharging in amongst Disney storytelling through music, fashion, art and food.

At the heart of the space is a bespoke, large-scale Mickey Mouse sculpture created by Spanish visual artist, Elno. The art installation, sitting at 4 metres high, offers a contemporary reinterpretation of Disney’s original character within a music-led setting. Spanish-born and London-based, Elno is known for her work across street art, mixed media and public installations. Created specifically for Disney at Primavera Sound, the piece has been designed as a visual focal point and a key photo moment for attendees.

Music will play a central role within the space, with Disney hosting a programme of live performances from Paula Tape (4 June), Martin Urrutia (5 June) and Absolutely (6 June).

Alongside the music line-up and sculpture, attendees can also expect:

  • A dedicated chill‑out space with seating for an intimate view of the music performances
  • A bespoke food truck serving Disney-inspired items, featured references to Mickey Mouse and Toy Story
  • Multiple photo opportunities including fun backdrops and an on-site photo booth offering printed photo strips with bespoke Disney branding
  • Limited-edition Disney Primavera merchandise

Disney’s presence at Primavera Sound Barcelona reflects a broader ambition to engage audiences through environments that sit beyond traditional channels. In addition to storytelling on screen, Disney continues to evolve how its stories and franchises show up across music, art, retail and food, connecting audiences through products and experiences, as well as content.
