INSIDE OUT 2 JUMPS FOR JOY AT THE UK & IRELAND BOX OFFICE. POWERING TO THE NO.1 SPOT ON ITS OPENING WEEKEND & BECOMING THE BIGGEST OPENING FILM OF 2024. CRITICS HAIL MIND-BLOWING SEQUEL AS CLEVER, HILARIOUS & EMOTIONAL

London, Monday 17 June 2024: Audiences were captivated on opening weekend as Disney and Pixar’s highly anticipated sequel Inside Out 2 brought viewers on an emotional journey taking £11,307,593 at the UK & Ireland box office, accounting for 71% of all ticket sales across the three-day weekend and delivering the biggest box office opening since Barbie. Riley’s return to the big screen brought all the feels, generating the biggest ever Saturday in the UK & Ireland for any Pixar film and third biggest opening weekend for a Pixar film behind Toy Story 3 and Toy Story 4.

  • Globally Inside Out 2 opened to an estimated $295.0M over the weekend, making it the highest global animated opening of all-time.
  • Internationally, the animation opened #1 in all significant markets.
  • 92% Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes & 96% Audience Score, making Inside Out 2 the highest-ever audience approval rating for Pixar.

Disney and Pixar’s Inside Out 2 returns to the mind of newly minted teenager Riley just as Headquarters is undergoing a sudden demolition to make room for something entirely unexpected: new Emotions. Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust, who’ve long been running a successful operation by all accounts, aren’t sure how to feel when Anxiety, Envy, Ennui and Embarrassment show up. The voice cast includes Amy Poehler, Maya Hawke, Kensington Tallman, Liza Lapira, Tony Hale, Lewis Black, Phyllis Smith, Ayo Edebiri, Lilimar, Grace Lu, Sumayyah Nuriddin-Green, Adèle Exarchopoulos, Diane Lane, Kyle MacLachlan, Paul Walter Hauser and Yvette Nicole Brown. Inside Out 2 is directed by Kelsey Mann, produced by Mark Nielsen and executive produced by Pete Docter, Jonas Rivera and Dan Scanlon. The film features a screenplay by Meg LeFauve and Dave Holstein and story by Mann and LeFauve. With music by Andrea Datzman, the all-new feature film releases only in cinemas June 14, 2024.
