LONDON, UK (23 August 2023) – Disney+ has today announced new casting for the supercharger season two of the award-winning, 100% Certified Fresh by Rotten Tomatoes, comedy series, “Extraordinary”, which has wrapped filming and will be coming exclusively to Disney+ in early 2024.
Joining the cast are Julian Barratt (“The Mighty Boosh”) who will play the role of “George”, Jen’s power coach at the Discovery clinic, Rosa Robson (“Inside No. 9”) who plays Nora, an unexpected person from Jizzlord’s past, Kwaku Mills (“The Other One”) who will play “Clark”, Carrie’s new work colleague and Derek Jacobi (“Murder on the Orient Express”) who will voice a special cameo role.
Season two picks up where season one spectacularly left off. Season one sees Jen, a painfully self-aware 25-year-old woman, still waiting to get hers. She’d take anything at this point. Adrift in a big, confusing world and armed with nothing but a bit of hope, a lot of desperation and her flatmates, Jen begins her journey to find her maybe-superpower. But in doing so, she might discover the joy of being just kind of ok.
Written by series creator Emma Moran, a stand-out debut writer with an utterly distinctive voice and directed by Toby MacDonald and Jennifer Sheridan. This is a fresh, innovative comedy about being young and finding your feet in a confusing world, when all you’ll ever be is ‘ordinary’.
“Extraordinary” is led by a cast of rising talent from the UK and Ireland, including Máiréad Tyers (Jen), Sofia Oxenham (Carrie), Bilal Hasna (Kash), and Luke Rollason (Jizzlord). Additional cast members include Siobhán McSweeney (Jen’s mum, Mary) and Robbie Gee (Jen’s stepdad, Ian), who will all be returning for Season 2.
“Extraordinary” is executive produced by Sally Woodward Gentle and Lee Morris for Sid Gentle Films, the production company behind “Killing Eve” and Charles Dawson. The series is executive produced by Johanna Devereaux, Vice President, Scripted Content for Disney+ and Emma Moran. The series is produced by Charlie Palmer and Abíólá Rufai-Awójídé.
