UEFA Champions League matches will stream on Disney+ in Sweden for the first time, with UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League rights renewed across Sweden and Denmark
From early stages to finals, UEFA's biggest match nights are coming to Disney+ customers across Sweden and Denmark, as Disney+ has secured UEFA men's club competition rights in both countries for the 2027/28-2030/31 seasons.
The agreement brings the UEFA Champions League to Disney+ in Sweden for the first time - providing all three men’s club competitions together in one place for fans - while exclusive rights to the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League have been renewed across both Sweden and Denmark. Alongside the UEFA Women's Champions League available across Europe, customers in Sweden and Denmark will have access to the pinnacle of UEFA club competition across both the men's and women's games.
Disney+ continues to build on its established sports offering in Europe, connecting fans with some of the world's biggest competitions. This includes Copa del Rey coverage across Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Finland alongside the DFB-Pokal in Sweden, Denmark and Finland.
This follows the recent launch of ESPN on Disney+ and the addition of major U.S. sports in select markets, including the NBA and NHL from the 2026-27 season. The wider lineup also features college sports such as men's and women's March Madness, college football playoffs and bowl games, as well as events including the Little League World Series and the Savannah Bananas. Customers can also access ESPN's acclaimed 30 for 30 documentary collection, alongside select studio programming including ESPN FC.
ESPN’s production and coverage will deliver high-quality live broadcasts, expert analysis, and in-depth storytelling throughout the season. Key fixtures will also feature Swedish and Danish language commentary and studio shows.
Karl Holmes, General Manager, Disney+ EMEA, said: “UEFA club football brings some of the most exciting nights in sport - the midweek games, the knockout ties, the energy around the biggest fixtures - moments that stay with you long after the final whistle. We're particularly proud to bring our customers in Sweden the UEFA Champions League men's and women's competitions for the first time ever - alongside the renewal of UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League across Sweden and Denmark. As we continue to grow our sports offering in Europe, fans can enjoy the biggest football nights across the UEFA Champions League men's and women's competitions, alongside the stories they already love on Disney+”.
Diego Londono, Senior Vice President & General Manager, Networks & Sports, The Walt Disney Company EMEA, said: “ESPN has a strong history of covering UEFA club competitions and these agreements build on that foundation. The addition of the UEFA Champions League to our rights portfolio reflects the continued expansion of ESPN on Disney+ across Europe. ESPN will bring its production expertise, insight, and storytelling to some of the most prestigious competitions in European football, with enhanced coverage across selected matches and programming.”
Fans can also follow UEFA Champions League coverage across ESPN’s digital channels, including @espnse, with highlights, news and key moments from every match.
